Looking for a Coward Mrs. O'Malley? Try at Home.

The Associated Press quoted Maryland’s first lady Katie O’Malley telling the National Conference on LGBT Equality in Baltimore, “We didn’t expect things that happened to the House of Delegates to occur, but sadly they did, and there were some cowards that prevented it from passing.”

O’Malley later issued a statement regretting her choice of words.

Delegate Jay Walker (D-PG) said O’Malley’s statement was unsatisfactory

“Call me a coward, but I'm going to stand by my faith and my principles, as well as on my constituents' beliefs. Forget politics, my mom and dad did not raise a coward."

In one fail swoop Mrs. O’Malley alienated the crucial votes her husband needs to pass gay marriage legislation, and belittled the deeply held moral and philosophical convictions of those who oppose gay marriage.

Standing on your principles isn’t cowardice Mrs. O’Malley. It’s just another lame euphemism concocted to disparage those who disagree with you and your husband.

Then there is the hypocrisy factor.

Here is Mrs. O'Malley's husband tweeting “You have to have the guts to make the cuts and the foresight to make the investments.”

Of course Governor O’Malley hasn’t cut anything. O’Malley’s budgets have grown 16 percent since he first took office in 2007. His FY 2012 budget featured one of the largest general fund spending increases in the nation, and his FY 2013 general fund general fund budget increases by nearly $1 million.

In fact, Governor O’Malley was so courageous that in his FY 2013 budget presentation—containing 38 Power Point slides—he never bothered to mention the $35.9 billion total budget figure. A profile in courage indeed!

So Mrs. O’Malley, if you’re looking for a coward try looking for the one in your own home.

Gay People: Follow me...It's not the strength of your enemies, but the stupidity, weakness, and wrecklessness, of your friends... that will kill gay marriage!
Katie O'Malley, let's call her, Madam big mouth, loud and wrong, may have just screwed the final nail into the coffin, of gay marriage in Maryland. The biggest coward of last year's bill failure was none other than, Katie's hubby, Marty. His reluctance to get in front of the issue, and his public statement that the issue should be decided by voter referendum, was about as cowardly a move as can be. The only person more cowardly was Speaker Michael Busch who was too cowardly to secure the votes needed for the bill's passage. While Busch and the gov are the biggest cowards, at least they are better here than their girl Katie. Katie, worst of all has violated judicial ethics, common sense, and the very cause for which she claims such great passion---Katie, why would anyone that was on the fence, or slightly reluctant, or less than enthusiastic about voting for gay marriage, be more inspired now given your thoughtless, judgemental, mean-spirited, comments? You have behaved as a pompous idiot, and it the bill fails this session, blame yourself! ....For the record, I'm not red. I am a democrat. I don't care whether gay marriage passes or not because it is not even close to the most important issue facing Maryland and should NOT be a legislative priority of the governor, the legislature, or Mrs. O'Malley. Rather than expoliting the issue of gay marriage to raise money for Marty, why not hold a fundraiser for the broke state of Maryland which your husband is making worse before leaving just as he did poor old Baltimore?!

Yeah, her husband is the real coward that did not even have the courage to push Gay marriage last session! Has she forgotten that?!

Ol Marty did not even have the heart to bring forth his support for the bill in his first term. Oh yeah, how could we forget, back then he was only for civil unions. What a joke.

Now he is only pushing it this year because Governor Andrew Cuomo pushed it and got it passed last year in New York. So now Marty only gained the courage to push it this year because he does not want to be outdone by a new Democrat Governor from a much bigger state.

I am sure Cuomo is running for President in 2016, but we know for sure Marty Owe Malley is.

Cowardice or Courage?

Which takes more courage, to stand with those who are politically correct and follow the latest trend... or to stand for what is traditional, but belittled as "hateful"?

Seems the real cowards are those who fail to stand for tradition and instead join the bandwagon.

Ironic that name-calling is evidently allowed if you are calling a traditionalist a "homophobe", but it is not allowed if you are calling the other side... the same word, without the "phobe" part?!
