Speaking of off the reservation....

The Maryland Politics Watch series on political mailers featured a mailer from Eric Luedtke Friday night.

Just in case your forgot, Eric Luedtke was a featured blogger at Free State Politics, an extreme left-wing blog that was underwritten by an extreme left-wing PAC.

During Red Maryland's earlier years, we took great delight in point out how for Eric Luedtke was out of the mainstream of even the progressive wing of the Maryland Democratic Party, much less average middle and working class Marylanders.

To whit, Eric Luedtke is an extreme leftist even when compared to your average Democratic primary voter in Montgomery County. It will be interesting to see if Montgomery County Democrats subscribe to such extremism.

I am sure that the coveted "Brian Griffiths Non-Endorsement" will carry a lot of weight in Montgomery County's District 14. In fact, I hear there's going to be a Washington Post story on the non-endorsement tomorrow.

As to the bizarre 2007 Mark Newgent post you link to proving that Eric is associated with Andrew Kujan and Andrew is a fellow traveler with Matt Stoller and Matt Stoller once had lunch with someone from BlogPAC, and BlogPAC is staffed by known devil worshippers, and therefore "Eric Luedtke takes orders from SATAN," the less said the better, for you at least. Both Roy Cohn and Kevin Bacon would be proud, however.

I will say that I have greatly enjoyed your publication of the exchange of letters between Derek Fink and Cookie Kiser and her husband. To the extent that this is how right-wing politics gets decided in Maryland (American Idol-style pathos, minus the music and Simon Cowell's once-entertaining rants), I now understand better why there are 14 Republican state senators and 37 Republican delegates.

We'll see how well that works out for you in November.

Oh I get it....you crawled out from under your rock to make Luedtke look more mainstream.

Brian every time you use "extreme" to describe a fairly bland milquetoast liberal site like FSP, it makes one wonder - is Red Maryland an extreme right-wing site? (I think it's not one; even Greg Kline, while certainly a staunch conservative on essentially all issues, is no extremist.)

I'll grant that Luedtke would be far to the left of a lot of precincts in Pasadena and absolutely unelectable in District 31, but Pasadena is - let's face it - Maryland's little Mississippi without the Delta Blues cultural heritage.

Bruce said it nicer than I did (not hard to do), but the point remains, Brian: if the now-dormant FSP is an "extreme left-wing blog," what's a non-extreme liberal blog?

More importantly, other than seeing you as the ultimate concern troll, why oh why should any self-respecting liberal (I know, you see that as an oxymoron, but go with me) give a rat's ass what you think is extreme or not? Or what you think of a Democratic primary candidate?

To quote the great liberal satanist himself, Jon Stewart:

"It's like wondering what your ex-girlfriend would think about the drapes you and your wife picked out for your apartment. No matter what pattern you pick she's not going to like the pattern of the drapes because she's fucking crazy."

Brian? You're the ex-girlfriend. Now go away while we Democrats pick some drapes.

a couple of points for your consideration.

Apparently you have been in a coma for a few years or you would recognize where the use of the word "extreme" comes from.

I don't know why any leftie would care how we characterize anything, I also don't know why we would care about their caring.

This blog isn't for democrats or lefties to the extent they are different.

You have a couple of choices in this matter. First, and my preference, is that you ignore us. Second, which is a requirement, is that you lay off the personal insults in your comments. I've moderated the last one of these that I intend to.

So, Bruce, you are saying I need to work harder?

By the way, RedMaryland has now been dubbed the Republican establishment gatekeepers.

Just wanted to let everyone know that.

Greg, you are a very hard, committed worker for your cause. Smartest thing my Team Blue could do would be to raise funds to get you an X-Box.
