Right Back At Ya Maryland Democrats
So the too-clever-by- half Maryland Democrats have eight questions for Bob Ehrlich about his running mate Mary Kane.
Well we have a eight of our own for Maryland Democrats and Martin O’Malley:
1. Did Martin O’Malley know or even care that in 2006 his own Lieutenant Governor, then Delegate Anthony Brown led the charge to kill Jessica’s Law—a bill which would have implemented strong mandatory minimum sentence for child sex offenders—by strong arming delegates on the house floor?
The bill passed in 2007, without help from the O’Malley administration.
2. Are Martin O’Malley and the Maryland Democratic Party cool with having, Martin Cadogan, a resident agent for one of corrupt developer Ronald Lipscomb’s LLCs, as treasurer of the O’Malley campaign? O’Malley said of Lipscomb “He is a man of vision talent and a commitment to the greater good.” Perhaps Lipscomb’s generous campaign contributions to Maryland Democrats provide all we need to know on that count.
3. Will the Maryland Democratic Party ask it’s former chairman Michael Cryor what his firm profited in it’s dealings with Ron Lipscomb?
4. Why did the O’Malley administration award over $3 million in state highway contracts to Fort Myer Construction, a firm previously debarred from state and federal contracts for bribing Washington DC officials? Was the fact that Fort Meyer was a client of Democrat staffer, donor, and O’Malley appointee to the Maryland Economic Development Corporation, Dana Stebbins’ consulting firm a factor?
5. Given Maryland Democrats’ concern for the Purple Line—especially their animosity towards the members of Columbia Country Club, who oppose it—will you ask Martin O’Malley to refrain from using his school ties to Columbia Country Club officer John Brophy to use the club for fundraising?
6. Will Martin O’Malley and Maryland Democrats excoriate Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin for voting aye on the same oil drilling rights bill for which they attacked Bob Ehrlich?
7. If oil is such a concern for Martin O'Malley, why did he raid Maryland's oil disaster cleanup fund to paper over his irresponsible budgeting?
8. Can Martin O'Malley and the Maryland Democratic Party explain the incongruity of their subsidizing—through paying for radio ads on WBAL Radio during Ehrlich's program—what they themselves called an illegal in-kind campaign contributions?

How about some Republicans in Maryland NOT cooperating with ANYTHING that further encroaches on us? When we had the State House, why didn't "our" Governor veto EVERYTHING and force the Democrats to overtly show they were railroading us by overriding all the vetoes unilaterally? Instead, he cut plenty of deals, harped on the stupid slots issue that SUBSIDIZES select friends' industries, etc. Funding Thornton. Etc. What nonsense.
A long and persistent line of people needs to stand up in office and say "over my dead body" to ALL the acts of this out-of-control government and then be willing to die politically for the cause, until the political massacre and its perpetrators are completely exposed. Instead "our friends" go along with the tyranny. They hand us a crumb or two while our pantry is raided, and claim they “at least got something” for us. These dealmakers got us into this mess. Cutting ANY deals is a tiny short term gain, while ensuring long term disaster.
At a Young Republicans meeting I was told last year that the MD GOP is about 200k in debt. We can't even balance our own books and we think we're going to balance the state's books? What a sick joke.
Until the MD GOP starts to stand for MASSIVE (think 50-80% or more) cuts into government and ELIMINATION of mandatory funding? Until they stand for NULLIFICATION of healthcare and Social Security and other IMPOSSIBLE and UNCONSTITUTIONAL federal tyranny? Until they stand up for REAL property rights and elimination of ALL subsidies and redistribution of wealth at government gunpoint? Until they eliminate ALL promises of government pension programs going forward, as the unsustainable false promises they are? Until they do these things, We the People might as well ignore the largely irrelevant and unprincipled Maryland GOP and live with the slightly greater of two evils. AT LEAST that way, socialism and statism, the wolves in wolves’ clothing, will get the blame. The GOP that talks about small government and votes for big is a far more dangerous quarry than the overt big government proponents.
So far, at this critical time in history, the next big election is on the horizon and "our Governor" isn't even talking about the looming GOVERNMENT-COLLAPSE and the MASSIVE ELIMINATION of non-discretionary funding that is UNAVOIDABLE and will be done peacefully or not, depending on how far the crooks kick the debt can down the road. Instead of facing the DIRE issues, he and the MD GOP engage in the same old BS squabbles, with the usual suspects thinking that a bad economy will let them back in to suckle the public teat a little more. Even if it’s a little less than the last jerk.
While the middle class crumbles and civil unrest sits around the corner. Sickening.
We are too far gone for this. If we have nothing to vote FOR, then there’s little point in voting against any more.
Come on Republicans. The time to regain your spines and DO is here. Why should we hope that you'll walk the talk when THE TALK ISN'T EVEN RIGHT?
Get spines, face the BIG issues, and SIGN A NOTORIZED, ENFORCEABLE CONTRACT that you will RESIGN OFFICE immediately if you violate the terms.
Without such things, there will be no more dealmaking, and the Republic will finish crumbling.
