Making my Point
I talked yesterday about the costs of the inauguration. Today, we find out the cost is $11 million just for the state of Maryland. $75 million for the metropolitan area.
Can somebody tell me what benefit there is for the taxpayers burdened with these costs?

Brian,
More questions:
1) How many Baltimore City police officers will be scheduled overtime to guard the masses at War Memorial Plaza, while 8 or 10 more people are killed this weekend because overtime for actual police work is not allowed.
2) Who on the Obama transition team thinks it will be a good idea to appear in a city where the Mayor and a leading council woman are both under indictment? Or a state where a long-time African-American state Senator is under facing ethics charges?
3) Why does he need to stop in Baltimore? We have enough to worry about with the Ravens working to pound the Steelers into iron ore pellets. Who needs this distraction?
4) Why does Washington, DC need to become an armed camp? I am pretty sure Lincoln had less security in the middle of a war for his second inaugural than Obama will.
5) This thing happens every four years. Do you mean to tell me that O'Guvnah -- who is allegedly smarter than the rest of us -- didn't think about this LAST year?
I say it's -
Tanks, go the memories.
