SCHIP Veto Overide Fails 273-156
Undoubtedly there will now be some serious horse-trading between Congress and the White House.
The Heritage Foundation offers a sober compromise:
A straight re authorization of SCHIP and a $1200 tax credit for families at 200-300% FPL.

If that happened legislation would be passed but the Dems would lose a perceived issue for 2008. I'm not sure they think that is worth the effort.
